CG Motocorp the authorized dealer for Maruti Suzuki vehicles brought the XL-6 during the NADA AUTO SHOW 2019.We managed to take a drive in the XL6. About the first impressions, the XL6 appears as a grown up version of the existing Ertiga. However there are some major changes in the exterior, interior and in terms of overall ambience of the car.
UNDER THE HOOD The heart of the car is likely same to the Ertiga except the BS6 complaint. In Nepal, we get manual power train options along the Zeta and the Alfa trims. The additional features you get on the Alfa trims are leather wrapped steering wheel and seats and reverse parking camera.
EXTERIOR On the exterior, there are new bumpers, muscular bornet, New headlights with day time running led and a projector fog lamps setup. Also the tail lamps are now led finished. The 185-65-R15 alloys are now painted black. Roof rails are also part of standard fitment.Claddings on side and both bumpers of the cars makes it to look like a SUV rather than MUV. The side mirrors with turn indicators are now painted black. These features makes The XL6 differ in terms of dimensions.
INTERIOR The main change that also supports the name is the interior which now has been converted into 6 seats configuration. The dashboard, the floors, door pannels and side pannels are now black which makes the car looks more premium and sportier comparing it to it’s in house rival the Ertiga. The wooden type finiah in the dash now turns stone finish to create a change in both of the cars. The middle seats are now captain seats that adds on comfort also with a inclusion of individual armrest for the second seats. 12V charging sockets for second and third row of seats attracts the customers along with the blowers given on the roof above the second row of seats adds on convenience of the car. Smart Play Studio is also one of the attractive features supporting Apple car Play and Android auto.
DRIVING AND HANDLING The XL6 is a 1.5l naturally aspirated SI engine producing 104 ps of power. In the city, driving gently gives around 12-13 kmpl of mileage as tested in the roads of Kathmandu. The engine doesn’t feels too peppy like other Maruti cars but the size the car is it sufficient active to give you a pleasant and confident even at a high speeds.
