The auspicious time for all the auto lovers in has arrived. The 13th edition of the biggest automobile event in the nation, NADA Auto Show 2018 will be held from this 26 Bhadra to 31 Bhadra at the Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall, Kathmandu.
The six-day event is being organised jointly by Nepal Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) and Global Exposition Management Service.The title sponsor of the event is SERVO World Class Lubricants. The exhibition will highlight the growing demands of the automobile sector. It will be the perfect place for the exchange of information, analysis of automobile sector for the Nepali people as importers, dealers, distributors, manufacturers and buyers will be gathered at the same place.
This year’s show will house around 134 small and big stalls and will be occupied by 71 exhibiting companies. 19 brands of 4-wheelers, 20 brands of 2-wheelers and 6 brands of heavy commercials will be on display in the NADA Auto Show, reads the press release. Other companies dealing in tyres, batteries, lubricants and other automobile equipments will also be present at the show. Major Banks and insurance companies are also participating in the expo to provide financial and insurance services to customers.

Life Automobiles, the authorized distributor of Jeep in Nepal is all set for the NADA Auto Show 2018. They will be showcasing their new Compass. The Compass is designed to look like a baby Grand Cherokee with influences from the Jeep Renegade. It gets the typical vertically slatted wide grille, the high mounted headlamps and the macho front bumper with the blacked out bash plate. The clear lens tail lamps in the back look sporty complementing the decked up tailgate and large bumper. Uconnect infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a dual-zone automatic temperature control take the centre stage on the dashboard. Seats are wrapped in Ski grey leather upholstery and the car has an electronic parking brake. As for the safety, the Jeep Compass gets dual-front airbags as standard along with ABS and EBD. It will be housed with the 170bhp 2.0-litre Multijet II engine from Fiat. It also has a petrol engine option – the 1.4-litre T-Jet engine from Fiat that develops over 160bhp of power. The top trim petrol engine comes mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox. However, other trims in petrol and diesel variants are offered with a six speed manual transmission. The manufacturer offers four-wheel drive power train in the top spec of the SUV.
Life Automobiles, the authorized distributor Jeep vehicles in Nepal will be also showing their boldest and most renowned SUV the Wrangler. The Wrangler is known for its off-roading might and rugged build and is practically a go anywhere car. Launched in 1986, the Wrangler is currently in its fourth iteration. Being the spiritual successor of the Willy’s Jeep, the Wrangler carries the signature vertically slatted fascia along with the twin headlamps and the jutting wheel arches. The Wrangler is all about utility and toughness and these traits are apparent in the way the interior has been designed. The whole look may be quite utilitarian but Jeep has added modern touches in the form of comprehensive instruments, a touch screen display, steering mounted controls, climate control and the lot. On the safety front, it gets dual front airbags along with an electronic stability program which has traction control, ABS, hill hold, hill descent and crawl functions to boost on-road as well as off-road capabilities. It will be powered by a 3.6-litre V6 Pentastar petrol engine with 281bhp of power and 353Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel-drive. The four-wheel-drive comes with the Command Trac on-the-fly system with hill descent control, electronic locking system etc.
Tata Tigor EV
Sipradi Trading Pvt Ltd, the authorized distributor of Tata passenger vehicles in Nepal will be showcasing the Tigor EV at the event. It was first at 2018 Auto Expo. On the outside, there is little to differentiate the Tigor EV from the standard Tigor model except for EV badge on the front and blue decals on the sides. Inside the cabin too, the differentiation is very subtle manifested through the knob gear-lever in the EV version. The power to the wheels is generated by three-phase induction motor having the total output of 30 kW @4500 rpm which roughly equates to 40 bhp of max power. The output of a Tigor EV is expected to be mediocre and the potential buyers will like to use the car only for intra-city travel. Tata Motors has refrained from disclosing the range although there is a mention of fast charging capability of the car.
Tata Nexon Amt
Sipradi Trading Pvt Ltd, the authorized dealer of Tata passenger vehicles in Nepal is all set to launch the new Nexon Amt. The Nexon AMT variant gets the same Multi-Drive modes (Eco, City and Sport) from the manual variant and also a creep function, which is a boon in bumper-to-bumper traffic. The diesel-AMT gets the four-cylinder engine with 110hp and 260Nm of torque complements the six-speed AMT unit quite well. The diesel-AMT is smooth right from the moment you take off from standstill, and the consequent shifts are no different. With low to medium throttle inputs, the AMT behaves very similar to a conventional torque converter gearbox.
Syakar Trading, the authorized distributor of Honda cars in Nepal is all set to launch the new amaze in Nepal. The second-gen Honda Amaze carries forward the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options. While a 5-speed manual is standard like before, a CVT is now offered as optional with both the engines (for the first time with the 1.5-litre diesel). The 1.2-litre petrol produces 90PS/110Nm while the 1.5-litre diesel produces 100PS/200Nm, 80PS/160Nm(with CVT) .
The new Amaze petrol delivers a claimed mileage of 19.5kmpl (MT)/ 19kmpl (CVT), while the Amaze diesel is rated at 27.4kmpl (MT)/ 23.8kmpl (CVT) Honda Amaze 2018 boot space and ground clearance: The new Amaze comes with a boot capacity of 420 litres, which is 20 litres more than before. The Amaze offers a ground clearance of 170mm, 5mm more than the previous model. The Honda Amaze 2018 comes standard with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Isofix child seat anchors and rear parking sensors. The new Amaze offers paddle shifters (petrol only) with CVT transmission, 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control function, rear parking camera support and passive keyless entry with push-button engine start-stop.
Ford Ranger Raptor

Mahindra XUV 500
Agni Incorporated the authorized distributor of Mahindra passenger vehicles in Nepal will be showcasing their all new facelifted XUV 500.
The Mahindra XUV500 can be had with a 2.2-litre (155PS/360Nm) diesel engine and a 2.2-litre (140PS/330Nm) petrol engine. While the diesel-powered XUV500 is available with either with a 6-speed MT or 6-speed AT, the petrol version is available with a 6-speed AT only. The XUV500 is available in both 2WD and 4WD options. The top-spec variant of the XUV500 is equipped with safety features such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, rollover mitigation, hill launch assist and hill descent control.
